Anita Carmichael is a true sax soul diva, seamlessly blending jazz, funk and soul with jazz standards and original material. Signed to the UK’s leading independent jazz label Saxology Records, her most recent album Lipstick on My Reed showcases her signature sound: soulful vocals, searing saxophone lines, and deep, groove-led compositions. She is also known for her Saxotronix release and a celebrated live album recorded in Barcelona for Spanish TV and radio.

Her music moves effortlessly between lush ballads, funk-driven soul, and sophisticated jazz, all delivered with warmth, confidence, and unmistakable personality. Anita has collaborated with Fayyaz Virjii (Incognito) and has guested alongside artists including Shakatak and soul legend Alex O’Neal.

Over her career, Anita has performed at some of the world’s most respected festivals, including Montreux Jazz Festival, Glastonbury, Jakarta and San Sebastian, and has appeared as an opening act for George Benson. She has also shared stages with Jonathan Butler and funk icon Fred Wesley, cementing her reputation as a performer of genuine international standing.
